SANTIAGO GARCIA EXHIBIT AT DESERT ART COLLECTION & SCULPTURE GARDEN

From April 7-30, Uruguayan painter Santiago Garcia will showcase his unique representational paintings at Desert Art Collection in the El Paseo district, Palm Desert. The show will open Friday, April 7th, 4-8 P.M. at Desert Art Collection & Sculpture Garden, located at 45-350 San Luis Rey Ave., for the Palm Desert 1st Weekend El Paseo Artwalk.  For more information, click here.

FASHION SHOW FRIDAYS

Each Friday from 11:30am-2:30 pm, Cuistot Restaurant on El Paseo in Palm Desert will host Fashion Show Fridays. Each event will feature “food, fashion, and fabulous” from top boutiques on El Paseo!  For more information, please click here.

KARAOKE FRIDAYS

Ready to explore your hidden musical talent? Karaoke has returned to Mizell Senior Center every Friday, from 12:30 to 3:00 pm. Join in the fun and express your hidden talent. This program is perfect for the first time Karaoke singer in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.  Karaoke is free to Mizell members and $5.00 for non-members.  For more information, please click here.

ART WALK FRIDAYS

COLLEGE OF DESERT STREET FAIR

For over 30 years, the College Of The Desert Street Fair has been a popular weekend destination, where locals and visitors alike can spend their day with an outdoor shaded shopping experience second to none. With merchandise and services for all ages and any budget, the Street Fair offers more than 300 merchants, artists, a farmer’s market, live entertainment, gourmet food and much more.  For more information, please click here.

DESERT INSTITUTE AT JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK PRESENTS: WILDFLOWER WANDERINGS

Saturate your senses with the beauty of a wildflower bloom in Joshua Tree National Park from 9am-4pm on Saturday, April 8. Desert Naturalist, Darrell Shade will lead this all-day field class on a tour through the colorful flowers of a desert spring. Darrell will entertain participants with descriptions of the flora, their botanical characteristics, and show how to identify the unique blossoms of the park. Click here for more information.

BIRDING WALK AT SANTA ROSA AND SAN JACINTO MOUNTAINS NATIONAL MONUMENT VISITOR CENTER

Each Monday from 7-9am, walk on the Ed Hastey, and Randall Henderson Trails with an experienced birder to discover the year-round and migratory birds who call the Coachella Valley Desert their home. Bring your binoculars, water, hat, sunscreen, and camera.  Donations are appreciated and encouraged. You can find additional information here.

PRE-FESTIVAL BEER GARDEN

Consider this the pre-Coachella Fest welcome party you won’t want to miss. Unwind at Whole Foods Market’s stellar outdoor patio April 13 and April 20 from noon to 6 pm before the two big festival weekends.  Sample craft beer, food pairings, or experience the awesome menu items at the Tap-In Taproom “groceraunt.” With live music and DJ sets added to the mix, positive vibrations are guaranteed! 7TH ANNUAL THE FIRST TEE INVITATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

Taking place on April 21 at Desert Island Golf and Country Club, the 7th Annual The First Tee® Invitational Golf Tournament is a fun and enjoyable fundraising event for The First Tee. The First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. Through after school and in school programs, we help shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect and perseverance through the game of golf. On the first Sunday of each month through May, this boutique flea market takes place in open air setting at 2300 E. Baristo Road in Palm Springs. Antiques and collectibles from every era can be found with emphasis on MCM furnishings and accessories. ELVIS HONEYMOON HIDEAWAY PRESENTS ELVIS AND PRISCILLA’S GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

On Saturday, May 6, celebrate Elvis & Priscilla’s Golden Wedding Anniversary where it all took place 50 years ago — the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway in Palm Springs.  See for yourself Elvis’ Palm Springs home that inspired the two exclusive Vernon & Gladys suites at the new Guest House at Graceland.  The event will feature live entertainment; Elvis tribute artist, George Thomas; and more!  Click here for more information.

ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY FLOWER DROP AND AIR FAIR AT THE PALM SPRINGS AIR MUSEUM

1 pm is a very special day at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Held on May 29th, the daylong event features a Memorial Day service at 1pm is dedicated to those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. In their honor, we highlight the service with a fly-by and flower drop of over 3,000 red and white carnations from a B-25 Mitchell Bomber. The entire day is filled with flight exhibitions, Heatwave Band, 82nd Airborne WWII re-enactors, Totally Twisted Balloons and Harpo the Clown, and lots of flying aircraft.
